This time we have three models available, on the one hand the Mecool K5 with DVB-T2/S2/C tuners and on the other the TV-Box Mecool KM1 Deluxe and Mecool KM9 Pro with Android TV system and Bluetooth remote control with integrated microphone give orders through Google Assistant.
The Mecool K5 is right now the best TV-Box with tuners. In addition to the double internal tuner for satellite and HD DTT, it includes an Amlogic S905X3 SoC that guarantees fluidity in all operations. We also have PVR recording capacity through USB port and it is expected that the usual support for OScam, BISS and SoftCam. An interesting TV-Box with the powerful Amlogic S905X3 SoC that allows us to move any app.
The new TV-Box Mecool K5 has 2 GB DDR4 RAM and for its internal storage we have options with 16 GB eMMC. It has a USB 3.0 port, another USB 2.0 and a microSD card reader. In the network section, it has a Wifi ac Dual+BT 4.2 wireless adapter (RTL822CS) and 10/100 Ethernet port. As we can see in the tests, the results give correct figures and the wifi reaches a sufficient speed for use with streaming and web browsing.
This SoC is manufactured in 12nm, it has a fairly low consumption. The refrigeration system is basic, temperatures can rise considerably, the box is very closed and the heat produced is not properly evacuated. The processor manages the speeds correctly but it is not advisable to leave this box locked, especially if we use the tuners for a long period and in basic use the operation is correct.
We test this TV-Box in its video playback aspect, the Mecool K5 has the classic performance of the Amlogic S905X3 SoC and an Advanced Video Engine Gen10 VPU compatible with most modern video formats such as h.265 and VP9 with support 4K HDR native resolution and even supports [email protected], it does not have an app for video quality settings. We can use players such as KODI or PLEX without the slightest problem and at the audio level we can reproduce DD and DTS sound up to 5.1 through the HDMI port.
We also have the TV-Box Mecool KM1 Deluxe and Mecool KM9 Pro available. These TV-Boxes have an Android TV system certified as operating system, with built-in Chromecast (only for Youtube) and a bluetooth remote control with microphone included, with which we can give orders to Google Assistant and which includes direct access keys to Amazon Prime Video and Youtube. Keep in mind that these boxes are not certified by Netflix so we will not be able to view the content in 4K UHD quality and we will stay in SD+.
