Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini Pro – small tablet, but powerful

They say strike while the iron is hot. Alldocube has taken every word of the famous proverb to heart. The company has launched several iPlay 50 series tablets this year, which are still very popular today thanks to their low price and excellent features.

The Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini Pro is an upgraded version of the popular iPlay 50 Mini tablet. But you could also look at it as a mini version of the Alldocube iPlay 50 Pro tablet.

The tablet is indeed mini, as the metal cased model with an 8.4-inch display is just 7.5 mm thick and weighs just 307 grams.

The new iPlay 50 Mini Pro gets a much more powerful MediaTek SoC, the Helio G99 (MT6789), which we’ve already seen in the iPlay 50 Pro.

The 2 ARM Cortex-A76 and the 6 ARM Cortex-A55 processors provide almost twice the speed of the predecessor (UniSoc T606). This speed-up is not only for general applications. Thanks to the ARM Mali-G57 MC2 graphics unit, the mini tablet finally performs well in games.

Doubled memory and storage

The 8.4-inch iPlay 50 Mini Pro has doubled not only in speed, but also in memory. The new model now has 8GB of memory, up from 4GB, with the option to add 8GB of virtual memory at any time.

The 64 GB/128 GB storage has been replaced with 256 GB, which is also a big improvement over the base model. Expansion is also a given here, with up to 512 GB of storage available via Micro SD card. The display is unchanged in terms of specs, with the 8.4-inch FHD+ (1200 x 1920 pixels) IPS panel, surrounded by a very thin bezel.

FHD+ Display

The tablet has a 5 megapixel selfie camera on the front and a 13 megapixel camera on the back, also an improvement over the iPlay 50 Mini.

Online anytime, anywhere

In terms of data communication, the new device retains the great features of the iPlay 50 Mini. Under the back cover is a 4G-LTE modem (with B20 support) that can handle two SIM cards. So you’re always connected, wherever you are and whenever you are.

Thanks to dual-band Wi-Fi, you can enjoy fast, uninterrupted internet and movies at home. There’s also 5.2 Bluetooth and a built-in GPS receiver for navigation.

A big plus for the iPlay 50 Mini was Widevine L1 support, which is not currently advertised for the iPlay 50 Mini Pro. Of course, this doesn’t mean that there is no support, but for those who want it, it’s worth waiting for the first tests.

Under the back cover, a 5000 mAh battery takes care of the daily power supply, for which the manufacturer packs an 18 W fast charger.
