The POCO M3 was launched back late last year and is still one of the best choices among mobile phones around $140. The POCO M3 Pro 5G retained the great pricing of the base model and was also enriched with extra features.
Pro models usually get extra memory, possibly a more powerful camera, but in the case of the M3 Pro we can talk about a completely new model, as more has changed.
The 6.5-inch, 1080×2400-pixel display has barely changed, but the image refresh has increased to 90Hz. The hardware has also changed, with the Pro model incorporating Mediatek’s Dimensity 700 system chip with 7nm manufacturing technology. You can select from 4 GB or 6 GB of memory and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage (UFS 2.2).
Undoubtedly, one of the biggest novelties of the device is the 5G, which can be a decisive purchase for many. In terms of wireless technologies, we get almost everything we may need: dual-band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, infrared, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou-based navigation.
No major progress can be seen with regard to cameras, the f / 1.79 48 MP main unit remains, next to which is the 2MP macro and the 2MP depth sensor module. So anyone who wants a strong cell phone in a camera will still have to reach deeper into their pockets. The support is not only theoretical, as the manufacturer includes an even more powerful 22.5W charger with the phone.
Equipped with the multilingual Android 11 operating system (MIUI V12), the POCO M3 Pro 5G is currently available for purchase outside the EU for around $160 and we have to pay around €160 for it from an EU warehouse. This means that it is currently one of the cheapest 5G capable mobile phones on the market.
